About Mish
I am open, honest, reflective, crass, and here to provide as much assistance with life balance, weight loss, food issues, exercise, and learning to find the peace inside of my own self to bring about the life that I’ve always wanted to lead.
I have lost 100lbs and maintained if for 10 years.
I have a couple pesky lbs. to go, but upon trying to diet/starve/binge/exercise punish it away I have come to the realisation the intuitive eating is where I want to focus. Further, finding the fitness isn’t about being thin, it’s about working your body to the MAX and sculpting!
For those of you who have joined, welcome.

AMAZING! You look awesome!
Wow. How long have you been on this then? I did something similar for a while as a “cleanse” (like 2 years ago) but have readjusted since then and incorporated things back into my diet. Best of luck with this, it’s a challenge but the results are worth it!
I have started the Special diet…I like to tell myself it’s a lifestyle about a month ago. I am trying to stick to it, although it can be difficult…especially going out. But, I feel better and that’s the most important thing at this point.
You should write a cookbook for people living with Crohn’s!
I just stumbled upon your blog, and you story is incredible! I will definitely be reading from now own.
I’ve just come across your blog, and you have the most amazing story
I just started my own blog (jwhin.wordpress.com) so I look forward to reading yours more, and maybe you can check mine out!

What an amazing story! So your diet made you better (or at least feel better)? Wow! Thanks so much for sharing your story.
Thanks for sharing your story. I can relate to a lot of it (especially the part about the binges…something I really struggle/have struggled with). I look forward to reading more; best of luck!
Sara,
Thanks for stopping by. I hope that what I am going through is of help. I wonder sometimes if sharing is what I should be doing, but it helps me and it’s nice to know that I am not the only one.

I’m so excited to have found your blog! What an amazing story. You have done so well! 120 lbs is beyond amazing.
I think it’s great that you’re working so hard to find that healthy balance! It sounds like you and I have some similar issues with food and bingeing. I also just started eating gluten-free, so I’ve started a blog about that and my journey to have a healthy relationship with food (I also work as a weight-loss counselor so I talk to people every day with emotional food issues, which gives me a lot to think about).
hey there!
i’m new to the blogging community and when i stumbled across your site, i was so impressed by all you have accomplished. truly inspiring. i totally agree with what you said about all these healthy, fit women who actually EAT – it is so eye-opening! anyway, just thought i’d introduce myself – i’m lauren
Thanks Lauren for stopping by. Welcome to the blogging community. Hope that you enjoy the posts.
Mish, I really liked your comment on Miz’s blog this morning about not listening to our bodies. It really made me think, and I quoted you in a blog I wrote this morning. I am going to give you credit, now that I have found your blog! Hope you don’t mind.
Just stumbled on your blog today and it’s very inspiring. Keep up the good work!
What an amazing story.. I am glad to have stumbled upon your blog! I look forward to reading.

What an amazing story! AND blog! As a vegetarian (sort of) I have always wanted to go vegan – you make it look easy and I love all of the recipes and insight you give! I am definitely bookmarking you!

Michelle, I am so sorry you had to go through so much. Glad we found each other, I hope we can give each other advice and help!
Mish, thanks so much for sharing your story. I can definitely relate to the binge eating and desire to truly listen to hunger cues and not feed the emotions. You are doing fantastic and taking your health to a whole new level. AWESOME!
btw-sorry for not answering you sooner – I know you asked about my daughter’s milk protein allergy! My little daughter is fine now and did outgrow her allergies by age 5, but during those years of eating a vegan diet, I taught her to concentrate on the things she CAN have and not the things she can’t. I did my best to always have a bag of her foods with me everywhere we went…birthday parties, special occassions, restaurants…so she never felt that she had to go without. It really wasn’t that hard when you are prepared and well, when it’s a matter of eat right or go into anaphylactic shock! Thankfully, it’s all good now! Thank you for asking about her
Thank you for writing back. I think that sparked the binge eating (beyond personal stuff) is that I felt like I couldn’t have anything. I rebelled and it cost me on so many levels. I have really taken a new approach to life which is helping me so much..silencing the ‘lose weight’ monster and cranking up the ‘healthy living/exercising’ monster. It works everytime
I stumbled across your blog and really like what I’ve seen thus far. I’m sorry I missed vegan4aday, because I’ve been vegetarian for years and would do something like that–maybe if you do it again I’ll get in on the action. Anyway, that’s a fun, interesting, thought-provoking, important blog you’ve got!
Thank you Hannah. I always wonder who I will reach..it’s just me in the flesh.
Amazing story. Thanks for sharing. It really helps me! Just found your blog and LOVE IT!
Welcome!

That picture at the top of where you grew up looks suspiciously like the town in Oregon where I grew up!
Thank you. I grew up in Corvallis
I read your entries about your trip to East TImor, it sounds so amazing and inspiring. How did you end up finding this place and getting contacts to do volunteer work? I’m interested in doing volunteer work and travel at the same time too.
Chris, I have a friend who runs a clinic up in East Timor.
It was an amazing experience.
I discovered your blog…yesterday? And I’m loving it. LOVING it. I’m so looking forward to reading more. (I already added your blog to my Reader!)
