Exposed Movement

The Exposed Movement is here. It started when I decided that I was tired of hating the way that I looked and wanted to celebrate my body. It’s grown so much and I am so grateful for the support of this movement. If you decide that you want to Expose yourself like the others here, please e-mail me! eatingjourney at gmail.com

Hi Mish! Way to go starting this movement — I’ll keep updating our list right along with yours so we keep this front and center in women’s minds.

Who’s next??? (then again who am I to say — I have not exposed myself yet!)

PS Thanks for posting our blog icon! I think we are now just starting to form our true community of like minded individuals, I am seeing a lot of new comments come through from people who are looking for that mind/body connection, while letting go of the perceived flaws physical form. The more we can deliver that message to the masses, the happier we all shall be!

You’re very welcome. I love LOVE the icon and I love your website. It’s people like you and the group who keep this positive view going. Thank you for stopping by. :)

    Hello,
I am a licensed mental health counselor and have had the honor of walking with many people through their food/weight/body image issues. Research says that dieting is not a long-term solution because almost everyone who loses weight gains it all back – plus more! This is because food and weight issues are much more about our hearts and our stories than calories and fat grams. Until we address these issues of the heart, we cannot fight the body image bandit and win. I am writing a book and blog about the causes and how to address them instead of treating the symptoms only. If we don’t work on the causes of our weight/body issues, it is like cutting off a weed at the top. It looks good for a while, but it always comes back. My latest post is called, “Real Reasons for Food Addiction.” I would love to hear your thoughts. Thanks, Cherrie

It is funny…I went to a few of these people’s “exposed” posts and I honestly wondered why they don’t like their bodies…they seemed beautiful to me. I think we are so hard on ourselves. None of us look like supermodels. I wonder what people would think of my body…how they would view it differently than I do.

Such a wonderful movement. It’s easy to forget what real people look like if you open a magazine, watch TV, read about fitness and have these perfected, airbrushed images in your face all the time. Being pretty young still (in my 20s), it is awesome to see all of these women so proud of their bodies after they have given birth, gone through cancer, gained or lost weight– just lived their life to the fullest. Much better role models and body messages than most of what is directed at women!! Thank you :) -Katie

I am adoring what your blog is about! :)

Thank you for your video. I have just recently posted pictures of myself on my blog and while looking at them I was ashamed. I knew that I was over weight but I never imagined that I looked like that. It is blogs like yours and so many others that inspired me to look at myself in a different view. I know now that my photos only encourage me to do something about my weight and about my physical well being.
    Thank you,
    Lucretia

I have recently began to realise that much of my physical self it actual the manifestation of what I feel like internally. So not only work on your outside self, but work on your mental self as well. Good luck.

I have been to your site a few times now, and this time I am adding it to my bookmarks :) Your posts are always relevant, unlike the same-old stuff on other sites (which are coming off my bookmarks!) Rock on!

Wow, your blog is so inspiring! I came across it through another blog. I can totally relate to everything you have said. The picture you show of yourself being successful, open, and brave are eye-opening to me. I realize I don’t have a whole lot of fun. I get bogged down, which is an excuse to not being open to life. I am currently reading WF&G. Thank you for your honesty!
